Health Protocols

Cleaning and Sanitizing

Teachers will routinely clean, sanitize, and disinfect classrooms throughout the day as needed, including wiping down all frequently touched areas several times a day focusing on toys, games, and other objects and surfaces that are frequently used.  Professional cleaning staff will be maintaining all hallways, restrooms, and common areas as well as the classrooms in the evenings.

Face Coverings

All teachers and staff will wear face masks daily. Although it is not a preschool requirement for students to wear face coverings, CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics recommend that children 3 and older who can reliably wear a face mask should do so. This means they can wear it without frequently touching or removing it.

All students and staff members will be required to wash their hands upon arriving and frequently throughout the day, including when returning from outside play and before eating.

Wellness Checks

Please perform a wellness screening on your child each morning.  If they are exhibiting any signs of illness, they are to stay home from school. Please email in addition to your child’s teacher to report any illness related absences. This will help us provide clear instructions on when your child can return to school in addition to documenting symptom onset should a quarantine become necessary.

We will look for signs of illness in students upon arrival. Students that are unwell may not enter campus. Regular wellness checks will be conducted throughout the day. The parents of unwell children will be notified immediately and asked to pick up their child right away to help stop the spread of illness. If a student is on campus with symptoms that may or may not be Covid-19 related, you will be required to provide a doctor’s note to return.

Signs of Illness

Fever of 100.4, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, abnormal fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat or persistent cough, severe congestion or consistent runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.

Your child may return to school under the following conditions:

Fever free without the use of medication for at least 24 hours, Symptoms have resolved, Note from your doctor

We enjoy classroom parties and celebrations and have enjoyed the involvement of parents in the classroom over the years. Your child’s teacher will be in contact about such events and any required protocols for attendance. Please note participation of parents in such events is done at your own risk and participation is not required.

If you are traveling out of the country, please inform your child’s teacher so we can help you investigate any possible restrictions or required quarantining period upon your return.

If your child has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID, please notify the preschool as soon as possible. If someone in your family is waiting results of COVID testing, we ask for your child to stay home, as this minimizes potential quarantine time should they become ill.

If your child is exposed to someone at school who tests positive for COVID, you will be contacted by the preschool immediately upon us being notified. You will be provided information about the required quarantine period per CDC guidelines and the date when your child may return to school.

This policy could change at any time during the school year. We will notify you in writing of any changes that we make.
